Why I chose the 690 Rally and not a 690 Enduro R for Races to Places. After many question from all angles, I decided to put this post together. Where to start? First I’d like to point out that my adventure of ‘Races to Places’ is quite a bit different to most. Sure I am riding around the world and require a good solid adventure bike, but I am also a racer at heart, appreciate a well set-up bike and I am racing too, so I want a machine that is capable of that also. Many people get confused and think my bike (Basil) is a 690 Enduro, modified for adventure / racing. In actual fact it is far from that. For those that have been watching ‘Races to Places’ and know that the bike started life as a 690 Rally, don't be fooled into thinking you can just go and buy a 690 Rally Factory Replica and it's good to go. KTM ADVENTURE 790 R - SURPRISE SURPRISE

Looking for a middleweight motorcycle with ultimate adventure chops? KTM’s 790 Adventure or R model (with up-spec’d suspension) is one that will fit the bill. When the prototype was introduced at the 2017 EICMA, it caused quite a buzz in the ADV world with its off-road purpose. When it was released in 2018, it was “Billed as the most hardcore of KTM’s Adventure line, the 790 Adventure R is fitted standard with tires and suspension capable of serious off-road duty.” While both models share the same 799cc LC8c motor, the R is primarily differentiated by its WP suspension with more adjustability and longer travel. The 790 Adventure and Adventure R are, as KTM says in its press material, “developed with the intent of adventure riding but to also be accessible for riders of all sizes, experience, and ability.” The 790 Adventure is the more road-biased of the two 790 adventure bikes. KTM Duke models get a makeover

It’s not exactly an extreme makeover, but the  KTM  Duke range is apparently getting some plastic surgery for 2016. If you have never ridden a KTM before, chances are that you wouldn’t believe me when I say , the very definition of how much fun you can have with something between your legs is going to be shredded, I am sure people who have tasted the KTM are grinning right now,and re-living that first ride of theirs in their mind.
